The RNH Contest 2011 was big fun. Like last year it was an international tournament with competitors from several European countries (Bulgaria, France, Germany, Sweden and Russia, but no Swiss players?) Saturday ? Doubles Net ? classic side-out scoring 10 teams competed in 2 pools with top 3 making to the next round. In 1/4-finals Quentin Isackson (RNH) and Guillaume Degat (Nantes) beat seed 4 ? Vincent Rousseau and Marco Brunet. No surprises occurred in 1/2-finals. Seed 1 ? Arthur Ledain and Florian Götze beat the up-setters Quentin and Guillaume. Greg Lima and JF Lemieux (seed 2) won easily against Lino Landau and Grischa Tellenbach (seed 3) ? sorry again for our worst tournament performance this year. The bronze medal went to Lino Landau and Grischa Tellenbach over Quentin Isackson and Guillaume Degat. Eventually the gold medal was taken by Arthur Ledain and Florian Götze over Greg Lima and JF Lemieux. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xmur7v_dn-final-game-1-2-4_sport http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xmuszz_dn-final-game-3-4_sport http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xmuu9o_dn-final-game-4-4_sport Sunday ?Singles Net ? rally scoring 14 players competed in 4 pools with top 2 making it to the next round. There were 2 up-sets in the pools: Olivier Baillon beat Miquel Clemente in 2 straight games and Quentin Isackson (this guy again) beat Marco Brunet. The top 4 seeds went through 1/4-finals in 2 straight games. We had decided that 1/2-finals and finals would be played best of 5 games to 15 points. Arthur Ledain beat Seb Maillet in 4 games and Greg Lima beat Lino Landau in also 4 games. Seb Maillet beat Lino Landau in 5 games for the bronze medal and Arthur Ledain beat Greg Lima in 4 games for the gold medal. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xmufrj_sn-final-game-1-4_sport http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xmuh8o_sn-final-game-2-3-4_sport http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xmuot6_sn-final-game-4-4_sport Thanks to all players who participated at the 9th edition of the RNH Contest and see all you next time.
